Natasha’s Law & labelling PPDS food – free guidance
This month Safer Food Scores has published free Natasha’s Law guidance. Natasha’s Law refers to a change to the UK’s Food Information Regulations. It’s main effect is that food pre-packaged on the same site that it is supplied (i.e. food re-packed for direct sale) to is no longer exempt from the need for a food label. The label requires the name of the food, a full ingredients list, with allergenic ingredients emphasised within the list. This labelling helps protect consumers by providing potentially life-saving allergen information on the packaging.
