Who’s it for?
This qualification is aimed at supervisors, team leaders and line managers working in the food industry where verification, auditing or inspection is undertaken. This includes internal or 3rd party auditors, enforcement officers and persons responsible for verifying HACCP, with the main emphasis of the qualification being on practical inspection and audit skills in the workplace. We recommend that you have suitable technical knowledge of the procedures which will be subject to audit/inspection and have a similar level of food hygiene training as the Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety. Arrangements are in place for special needs.

How is it assessed?
There is a one hour 30 question multiple-choice test at the end of the day and you need 18 out of 30 to pass (or 24 out of 30 for a merit). Following the course you will be sent a Level 3 Award in Effective Auditing and Inspection Skills certificate.

What will I get out of it?
You will know how to carry out effective audits or inspections. Your knowledge will include the purpose of audits/inspections, benefits and limitations, the auditing/inspection cycle, check lists, data gathering, analysis and interpretation and reports.

How much does it cost?
Open courses cost £170.
We can also hold courses at your premises which if you have 4 or more people to train (and a suitable room) you could save money.
