Who’s it for?
The Level 2 Award in Principles in Risk Assessment a one-day course aimed at all employees. It is intended for candidates already in workplaces and those who are preparing to start or return to work. It is also very useful for young people to raise their ability to identify and understand hazards when preparing for work experience and into employment. There are no pre-requisites for this qualification but it is advised that candidates have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent. Arrangements are in place for special needs.
What’s it about?
The Level 2 Award in Principles in Risk Assessment covers: • The main causes of accidents and ill health, and their implications • The legal requirements for risk assessment • The principles of risk assessment including: – hazards, risks and control measures – the five steps of risk assessment – the hierarchy of control – risk assessment review and record keeping.
How is it assessed?
There is a half hour 15 question multiple-choice test at the end of the course. Following the course you will be sent a Level 2 Award in Principles in Risk Assessment certificate.
What will I get out of it?
The aim of the Level 2 Award in Principles in Risk Assessment is to raise your awareness of the concept of risk assessment in a work environment. It will give you the ability to contribute to the process and act always to protect your own health and safety and that of others.
