Who’s it for?
This half-day qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters in any workplace or those who intend to move on to further fire-safety training. There are no pre-requisites for this qualification but it is advised that candidates have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent. Arrangements are in place for special needs.

What’s it about?
The Level 1 Award in Fire Safety provides a basic understanding of workplace fire safety and prevention.

How is it assessed?
There is a half-hour 15 question multiple-choice test at the end of the course and you need 10 out of 15 to pass. Following the course you will be sent a Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness certificate.

What will I get out of it?
The aim of the Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness is to ensure you know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace with recognition of the contribution they may have to prevent the starting and spread of fires.

How much does it cost?
Open courses cost £80 (+VAT)
If you have 5 or more people to train (and a suitable room) you could save money with an in-house course.
